The Trenton Public School District is closely monitoring the potential inclement weather tomorrow and Thursday. As of today, Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, the district has not used any of the 3 built-in emergency closing days. The district is planning to be CLOSED on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, unless an emergency forces schools and offices to close for more than one day. District administrators will continue to communicate with our families if anything changes, as needed.
The NJ Primary Election scheduled on Tuesday, June 3, has been moved to Tuesday, June 10, by the governor’s office. Due to this change, our third emergency closing day will be moved to June 10. The district calendar will be updated to reflect this change.
Emergency Closing Day Information:
Trenton Public School District officials have built-in three emergency closing days into the 2024-25 school year calendar. In the event the district has to close as a result of an emergency, including weather emergencies, schools and offices will be open on the days listed below. The order in which emergency closing days are also outlined:
- First Closing Day: If TPS were to use one emergency closing day the district would be open on Friday, May 23.
- Second Closing Day: If TPS were to use two emergency closing days (prior to Monday, Feb. 17) the district would be open on Monday, Feb. 17.
- Third Closing Day: If TPS were to use three emergency closing days the district would be open on Tuesday, June 10, BUT the schools that are designated polling locations will be virtual due to the NJ Primary Election (more information to come if needed).
