Starting this school year, Trenton Public Schools will be implementing Yondr Pouches in all grades 4–12 schools as part of our ongoing commitment to fostering focused, engaged, and respectful learning environments.
Yondr pouches are secure, lockable cases that hold students’ personal cellphones during the school day.
- Upon arrival each morning: Students will place their cellphones into their individual Yondr pouch, which will then be locked and kept with them.
- During the day: Phones remain inaccessible, helping minimize distractions, reduce social media conflicts, and encourage face-to-face interaction and academic engagement.
- At dismissal: Pouches are unlocked, students regain full access to their devices, and the pouches will be relocked.
We recognize that cellphones are a part of daily life, but we also believe that creating boundaries during school hours is essential for student well-being and success.
Additional information about how Yondr pouches work can be found here. Specific details about implementation at your child’s school will be shared directly by the school in the coming days.
Thank you for your support as we work together to create the best possible environment for learning.
